Mike,

If you can't add more memory as Jason asks, how about supplying a small PC
utility to scan a directory tree and convert all the progressive JPEGs?

Then how about you smart guys at Roku add some memory to that beast? Solder
down some bigger chips and recompile the kernel. We all know it wouldn't be
hard - then just cut that process into the manufacturing floor. Those of us
that have the old version could then sell ours on ebay and buy a new one
with more RAM :)

Seriously, I know it's not *quite* that simple, but it can't be that hard
and from what I gather, lack of RAM is responsible for a large number of
headaches I keep seeing people complain about.

Is there any hope?

Glad to hear it. We don't support progressive decoding because it requires
MUCH more memory than regular. So much that we simply don't have enough...

I just have to ask. Are you the Peter Giancola that I used to know from
Maryland. If so, how's things. Funny I should run into you on the Roku
mailing list. Let me know if you're who I think you are and I'll fill you
in on what's going on in my life.

There is a shareware program called 'Advanced Batch Converter' that does
the job very nicely.
