Soundbridge questions

I am interested in now investing in a M2000, love the screen. But have
some questions:-

1) With the slimserver backend will it be *only* two line display
without the bar chart style visualisation?

2) With the slimserver will you be able to browse the file system
effectively (not with SMB/NT shares) like you can with the slimp3 player
(I have one and like the M2000 screen better) The reason I ask about the
browsing feature is I **hate** with vengence applications which catalog
mp3s based on the album tag. If one track has a slight different album
tag or artist spelling it will appears as two albums or artists. All my
mp3s are in neat directories.

3) I read somewhere in the lists that Roku plan on integrating the
HD1000 and the Soundbridge so the HD1000 could use the screen of the
M2000. Is this still the plan?

Sorry for the rant in question 2 ;-)

Regards

Scott

Hi Scott,

In the initial release of our client software, yes, you will see a 2-line
display without the visualizer. You will not gain any additional characters
of information, just larger size.

You should be able to do anything with the SlimServer that you would do
with any other client of it. The operation should be exactly what you're
used to now. Do note, however, that our remote was designed to work with
our user interface (not the SlimServer UI), and so some quick-access
features that require additional keys on the remote aren't available when
using the SlimServer. (Example: we don't have number keys so the fast
scroll and T9-style text entry are unavailable).

I don't believe we've announced any formal plans for what you describe in
#3, although of course we're always looking for ways for our products to
interact and build upon on another.

Best,
--Mike
