I apoligize sincerely for not unsubscribing from this list before
leaving... I honestly thought I had unsubscribed from all of my lists
before setting up the auto-reply, I just forgot this one. I don't
use Outlook, it was from a web client, and I didn't realize it would
send to the same sender repeatedly.
Won't happen again... I hate those messages as much as the next guy.

With all due respect....
I am not upset about this - it reduces the value of the list if every
other message I get is regarding the same person being out of the
office
for the past three weeks...
Don't bother responding back to this - I am going to drop the list to
make everyone's life even easier..
Who cares if it rains in vegas - I am inside spending money.. ;-)

The list server could help by filtering messages with "I will be out
of
the
office" in the subject or body...
If someone knows how to configure outlook 2003 to not send OOO
replies
to a
specific address, please let me know.
In this case, I don't think he's using OOO, just has an autoreply
set.
If he
were using OOO it would only send one per address and would have
'Out of
Office Autoreply' in the subject.
I don't mind ignoring one message per person any more than I mind
questions
about soundbridge or using a Mac. Let's not get to carried away... :)

The solution should be to drop this guy from the list -- any time the
list
gets an automated vacation message, the admins should drop that
member
and
send them a canned message explaining why.

model for several years, moving a drive between systems at least once
a week without problems. Lately I've "upgraded" to some $20
CompUSA-branded trays that have more metal parts and extra fans, and
so far so good. Granted these are not hot-swap themselves, but since
you can power down an enclosure separate from the computer that's
almost the same thing.

I guess I'm the first to post!
Hookup was easy. iTunes server showed up right away.
The first two times I tried to access a playlist, it mysteriously
failed. (I figured there was a size limit I had exceeded or
something
as the playlists were very long). But, later it laoded it just fine.
Playing like a champ.
The little one squeezes in very nicely under my center speaker on
top
of the TV, the 2000 would have been too big for that spot.
Only one thing missing, Apple Lossless.
I notice that iTunes creates its Apple Lossless files with the .m4a
extension which would indicate they are MPEG4 Audio files. Are they
just using some published spec? Hint hint...

First flaw. It apparently can't pass ripped DTS music! That means
the
AIFF files are being altered somehow before being passed through the
optical output. I presume that is related to the volume control
being
functional. I would like a passthrough mode for AIFF files where
the
volume control is not active and DTS data can make it through
unaltered. (The Airport Express does this just fine).
I keep getting caught up having to select a playlist instead of just
pressing play when over it. I think the play button should work
when a
playlist name is highlighted, especially if shuffle is active so you
can start at a random song. As it is, we have the same problem we
have
with the roku where you have to dig into the playlist and choose the
starting song before it will start shuffling.
You can't even press play when a song title is highlighted, you have
to
select it again. And choose "Play playlist starting with".
Other than that, I'm still in awe, watching the flashing blue lights.

A 250Gb drive should hold about 16-28 movies, putting the cost at
$4->$9 per movie (depending on bitrate and drive size). That puts
it$4->$9 per movie (depending on bitrate and drive size). That puts
in the same range as DVHS tapes. Not a bad proposition. Of
course youneed an enclosure (Firewire/USB2.0)
