Song Selection from PC rather than HD1K

Would really like to pass streamed music to my sound system via HD1K. I use
musicmatch alog and am wondering of there is a way to direct the audio from it
to ethernet socket in a way that HD1K will pass it through to sound system.

Same question about Video as well, only likely talking about Windows Media
Player then.

The HD1K will play music directly. Simply share the directory that has your
music collection. You can then use the HD1K to select and play audio. The
are ways to do the same thing using the CinemaSix applications to play video
files directly from a file share or via stream via VLC.

I currently use the slimp3server software which produces amongst other
things a stream.mp3 via http.

So you control the music playing via the http interface from your pc and
then point the vlc client on the HD1k to
http://your_pc_ip:9000/stream.mp3. Works a treat.

Would like some clever soul to write an application which controls via
hd1k too or even just an interface on the hd1k so you can see the
currently playing track on screen. All this information is available via
http requests from the slimp3server.

Sorry if the slimp3server work is swearing here.

PS My first week with the HD1k, love the telnet feature feel really at
home.

Either use the built-in music player from Roku or download MusicJukebox
(http://portlover.com/jukebox.roku/).

Share your music directory via Windows Sharing so that the HD1000 san see
it, then either go to that share on the HD1000 interface and click on
'Listen' or just run MusicJukebox (after you install it).

Rabi,

Thanks for your response. However, I'm already using the HD1K in the manner
you suggest. Prob(s) are , (1) I rarely want to limit music to that which
exists in a single folder and (2) I stream music in from internet through
musicmatch mp3 player (it doesn't build files) and would like to redirect
that to the HD1K. Musicmatch (and other juke boxes) offer the song
selection flexibity I need. Would like to use that flexibility to direct
music/video to HD1K.

Looks like Scott Culverhouse has posted message that is along the lines of
what I need.

Thanks,
Brent
